It has been another busy and rewarding few weeks serving our community. I am especially excited to share that Governor DeSantis has signed HB 429 into law, legislation inspired by conversations with Ocala Police Chief Mike Balken and his team. I also had the opportunity to celebrate our Marion County students, support our veterans, and continue promoting policies that help keep Florida strong.

HB 429 Signed by Governor DeSantis!
Governor DeSantis signed HB 429 into law, and I couldn't be prouder of this one. This bill, co-sponsored with Rep. Jessica Baker, modernizes how Florida identifies and prosecutes criminal gang activity, giving law enforcement real tools to protect our communities.
This legislation was born out of a conversation with Ocala Police Chief Balken and his team. They flagged the gap; we fixed it. That's how it's supposed to work.
Thank you, Chief Balken and the Ocala PD, for bringing this forward, and Governor DeSantis for signing it into law. Florida families are safer because of it.
I had the opportunity to tour Veterans Helping Veterans and see firsthand the incredible work they do to support those who have served our nation.
From connecting veterans with resources and services to providing a strong sense of community, their dedication to improving the lives of fellow veterans is truly inspiring. Thank you to the staff, volunteers, and veterans who shared their stories and showed me the impact of this important organization.
